Blog Entry 21: Reflection

The three entries that i consider good entries are Matrix, Meatrix and The dangers of reality tv. The reason is because there were very interesting topics where I learn new things that i didn' know, so it is pretty much more about learning about new things than a very good essays which I know they are not bad but it needs more work.
Well, writing online was totally different from my other writing experiences because i was used to write always by hand but it was really good. Yes, i believe blog entries help me improve in my level of writing because there was a lot of work. Online work was a shared activity because students can see your work and even make comments. Yes, I read some of the students online work so i can see the different opinions and writing development.

Blog Entry 17: Reflection

I think that learning a bit more about how food is processed is a good experience on this blog. What really I could say is that it makes connection with the allegory of the cave, the truman show, and the matrix is that food markets make us believe something is not true or maybe false. What's more they try to have the control in us. The reality is that they have the power to convince humans to buy their stuff with different strategies. What I think about why the makers of meatrix films used the matrix as the basis for their argumentswis because in matrix the part where neo have to pick one pill whether the red one or the blue oneand in the meatrix people want to know the truth about how the meat is processed or just leave in the world of lies without knowing the truth.
I think I have done my essays pretty good but I know that I have to keep working in the Thesis Statement and try to write  a little more. The class has been very challenging since the begining so I think that every day is different and always somthing new to learn. About the last CAT i believe I didn't do very well but it wasn't bad.

Blog Entry 20

A topic from sleep dealer ( fight) I think Memo is fighting for something that his village needs wich is water. The water is controlled by soldiers who don't allow any person to get water, if someone needs water they have to pay for it. Later, he went to the city where the cyber factories were, he started working there until he had the opportunity to convince a guy to destroy the dam, so his village could have water.

Annie Leonard: "According to those exploiting the planet's resources to make stuff, the people living in the countries with the resources do not have value because they don’t own the resources even if they’ve been living there for generations, they don’t own the means of production, and they’re not buying a lot of stuff." Who/What is responsible for this reality? Who/What benefits from it? Who/What suffers because of it? Is this reality necessary? Is it right?  The responsables of these reality are the big companies whose purposes are just to make profits using different resources and who suffers the impact is the enviroment because it is themain target when is time to do stuffs. I don't think it is necessary to damage the environment, what big companies should do is find another way of making stuffs without exploiting the planet.

The topic that i believe is related with the picture is technology and society. It shows how humans depends on technology for the different kind of jobs. As in the film sleep dealer, thechnology is the main source to produce work. If we continue like this we are are going to end up with technology controling the humans in the future. Nowadays tech is very important for everybody. In the other hand, us as a society we'll become less useful if we let technology do so. We should have a limited time when we use technology so that way we don't get used to the use of tech.

Blog Entry 16: Cat-practice

According to the passage "let them eat fat" written by Greg Critser states how fast-food and national restaurant have been more dangerous when we talk about health in the youths. These companies don't think about the problem that are creating by "targeting poor inner-city communities" and making them buy whether with sales promotions or messages promotions.
In first place, fast food sales promotions. The reason these companies give certain sales is because based on researches, it is convinious for fast food companies use poor communities as the main target; therefore, the teenagers will be affected by these kind of sales. For example, young kids are lure by these sales because companies put prices as cheap as they can, so kids would not have problems buying it.
In second place ,messages promotions. That is a good ideathat companies use to have more consumers. "If we don't recommend a supersize, the supersize is free", a sign message that many customers are attracted. Who won't like to get a supersize meal,so that is the point, they use different strategies to make the customer believe it is a good deal and the most important cheap. For instance, my cousin who likes fast food because as the word say it is fast, he prefers buy mc donalds than go to a restaurant and waits until the food is ready. Another reason that people eat fast food is because of the taste. They make a unique taste so the consumers like it and come back for more.
In conclusion, I believe that us as a communities we have to take control of this issue. This is not something that we can just let it pass because the one that are going to be affected are our children; therefore, parents should not allowed their children eat fast food because of the different health problems such as obessity or high pressure at early age. Finally, I would say that parents are the ones who have the control over their children.

Blog Entry 15: Responding to the Meatrix

The meatrix a film that show us the truth about where our meat animal product comes from and how we as a consumers are exposed to the different risks by supporting these dairy factories farms. One of the main methods that these factories use for the maximun profits are animal cruelty which is based on how animals are forced to live in certain ways that big factories farms can make more money than a regular family farms. The things that factories use to make cruelty are artificial hormones, antibiotic overuse and the mad cow disease.
In the first place, artificial hormones are use in the animals. The reason of the usage of the growth hormones are because factories need to make them grow faster so they can produce more in a shorter period of time. Contrary to family farms, animals are feed healthy with natural products. As the meatrix film show us the way of how animals are forced to give away their product using different kind of machines.
In the second place, the antibiotic overuse. The usage of antibiotics in the animals are because they are vulnerable to any disease. The factories farms put the animals in very small places where they dont have too much room to move and sometimes they cant get fresh air. The conditions are horrible in these places; therefore, the products will not be as healthy as the consumer think it will be.
Lastly, the mad cow disease. It happens because cows are separeted from their mothers when they are babies and what factories do after that is that they feed them with milk made from cow blood. It can be spread all over the cows so the meat could be contaminated. The most important thing for the factories farms are to give away their product and keep producing more.
