Blog Entry 16: Cat-practice

According to the passage "let them eat fat" written by Greg Critser states how fast-food and national restaurant have been more dangerous when we talk about health in the youths. These companies don't think about the problem that are creating by "targeting poor inner-city communities" and making them buy whether with sales promotions or messages promotions.
In first place, fast food sales promotions. The reason these companies give certain sales is because based on researches, it is convinious for fast food companies use poor communities as the main target; therefore, the teenagers will be affected by these kind of sales. For example, young kids are lure by these sales because companies put prices as cheap as they can, so kids would not have problems buying it.
In second place ,messages promotions. That is a good ideathat companies use to have more consumers. "If we don't recommend a supersize, the supersize is free", a sign message that many customers are attracted. Who won't like to get a supersize meal,so that is the point, they use different strategies to make the customer believe it is a good deal and the most important cheap. For instance, my cousin who likes fast food because as the word say it is fast, he prefers buy mc donalds than go to a restaurant and waits until the food is ready. Another reason that people eat fast food is because of the taste. They make a unique taste so the consumers like it and come back for more.
In conclusion, I believe that us as a communities we have to take control of this issue. This is not something that we can just let it pass because the one that are going to be affected are our children; therefore, parents should not allowed their children eat fast food because of the different health problems such as obessity or high pressure at early age. Finally, I would say that parents are the ones who have the control over their children.
